As our characters preserve on, the questions of the past become reconciled with new truths leading to more questions. In the final pages, a new prospective is brought to light as a new crisis wains on the horizon. When faced with an enemy who doesn’t play fair, one can find solidarity in the community around them.
The story is so intriguing; it doesn’t throw you into a war, but it brings you into the heart of a man who tries to hold himself through his healing journey. It’s rare to find a fantasy book that’s emotionally grounded.
If you are a fan of Tolkien but wish they had more emotional vulnerability, then you’ve got to have this book in your TBR. The way time runs in the book is so amazing; the intermingling of past and present is masterfully done. The series has potential.
